Situation:

A ‘Forbes’ Global Leading manufacturer of Optical products serving the semiconductor industry approached Insight Technology Search in 2022, after having previously supported their President on a high-profile recruitment assignment.

 

Looking to rapidly grow and consolidate their technical operation, a new R&D Director was needed to deploy and execute a strategic vision for global R&D of Optical solutions. This person was going to be critical in the company’s long-term success.

 

Approach:

Insight team members worked closely with the client to come up with the ideal R&D candidate profile needed for this position. This included defining the core competencies, skills and experience required for this person, along with deciding what personality traits and values would be needed to be successful in this role. 

A detailed hiring strategy was agreed, and due to the tight time constraints of the assignment, a dedicated Insight Technology Search Team was formed to speed up the recruitment process. The team took the time to develop a deep understanding of the business and its culture, to be able to market the opportunity and gain the interest of the strongest candidates in the market.

Insight identified the key influencers & leaders in a niche market with the appropriate level of expertise, tapping into our network and hard-to-find global R&D executives. We ran the process through to completion ensuring the desired candidate was supported and successfully engaged by the client.

This was a complex search and ultimately one candidate was offered the position. Insight Technology Search is now working on more executive searches for that same company, continually assisting them with their global growth.
